Bora is moved by change. Literally. Having lived and managed teams in various locations such as India, China, Turkey, and Germany, he is no stranger to adaptation and transformation.
Before joining &Wider, Bora spent a majority of his career at Siemens holding various strategic procurement management positions. Most recently, he was Danone’s Global Head of Risk and Due Diligence where he and his team focused on ensuring Human Rights in the company’s complete supply chain. In addition, Bora previously co-led the Sustainable Procurement Pledge’s Human Rights chapter.
His ability to bridge the gap between the ‘silos’ of the procurement and sustainability departments is what Bora brings to &Wider as Director of Sustainable Sourcing Client Activation.
The challenge of combining these two worlds can be achieved through the usage of &Wider's tools such as (business level) monitoring, landscape assessments, and workers voice while at the same time being compliant to legislation such as CSDDD and CSRD.
Bora is fluent in four languages and holds degrees from the University of Utrecht, University of Leiden, Steinbeis School of Management, as well as a certificate for sustainability in the supply chain from Cambridge University.
He was also chosen as “one of 30 global innovators in 2024 shaping the future of sustainable procurement” by the CIPS organization.
Bora is known for having a (slight) obsession for collecting vinyl records, which has now reached the 900 mark…
